MOUSEHOLE HERITAGE CENTRE

Thanks to Shared Prosperity funding, we have created an Archive and Heritage Centre on the ground floor of the Solomon Browne Hall. The first phase of the Centre opened in Spring 2024 and is now fully operational.

The Mousehole Archive and Heritage Centre brings to life the unique and colourful past of Mousehole and its inhabitants.

Its purpose is to:

• Serve as an information centre to educate and entertain the general public about Mousehole’s rich historic past through permanent, temporary, and digital displays.

• Act as a focal point for connecting Mousehole’s archive of heritage material with other centres of local heritage throughout the Duchy of Cornwall.

• Provide a home for the Mousehole Historical Research and Archive Society (The Mousehole Archive).

Key objectives of this Archive and Heritage Centre include:

• Informing and engaging local people with their heritage and culture

•Giving holidaymakers an insight into Mousehole’s unique heritage and culture

By sharing knowledge of our local heritage and culture, we encourage our community to care for and preserve our village and its heritage.

Okay, thank you
