Venue Access Information and Access Statement

Venue:
The Solomon Browne Hall is situated at the end of a residents only car park on Duck Street in the centre Mousehole. Duck street is a pedestrianised street from the harbour, however there is vehicle access from the top end of the street and there is a disabled parking space immediately outside the hall for hall users (cars and small vans only – access is not suitable for long wheel based vehicles.)

Public Transport Access Routes and Building Access
The nearest bus station is on the harbour front next to the clock tower which is approximately 50 metres away. The bus service is very frequent, and during the day runs every 20 minutes in the summer holidays and every 30 minutes for the rest of the year. Bus Times.

The bus service connects to major national rail links via Penzance train station.

There are several council pay & display car parks in the village and within easy walking distance (the largest being just before the Old Coastguard Hotel on the left hand side as you drive into the village from Penzance direction.)

The Solomon Browne Hall is a two-floor venue.
Access is on the Ground Floor. A lift provides access for wheelchair-users.
The hall has a wheelchair available for hall users. The hall is fitted with an induction loop for hearing aid users and there are braille signs throughout the building and on the stair rails for those with sight loss.

If you have any special access requirements please let us know in advance.

Getting Around
Seating
Cushioned seating is available in the window recesses upstairs and there are padded seats available. Please ask staff if you require more chairs.

Once inside the building there is level access to the Ground Floor only.

Public Telephone
There is no public telephone on site, the nearest public telephone is under the clock tower on the harbour front. The phone on the bar can be used in an emergency or to book taxis for disabled visitors.

Assistance Dogs
We welcome assistance dogs and a bowl of water can be provided if requested.

Accessible Toilets/Baby Changing areas
There is a unisex accessible toilet on the Ground Floor. There are 2 more unisex toilets upstairs. All 3 toilets have baby changing facilities.

Fire Alarms
The fire alarms give an audible warning only. There is no visual display. A member of staff will assist in the event of a fire alarm.

If you are unlikely to be able to hear the alarms or will need assistance to exit the building if the fire alarm sounds, please tell a member of staff on your arrival.
