Will Keating & John Dowling live in Mousehole

Date/Time
29/07/2022
7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Will Keating & John Dowling perform at the Solomon Browne Memorial Hall for the first time. Join them for an evening of Cornish folk and shanties with a splice of bluegrass.
Will Keating, part of Cornish male singing group The Oggymen, has wowed audiences far and wide since embarking on a solo career in 2017. Two Sold Out Headline performances at the iconic Minack Theatre in 2020 and 2021, secured Will’s reputation as one of Cornwall’s stand out performers.
“Cornish songs delivered with passion and presence, honesty and integrity” – Harry Glasson
John Dowling is a world class banjo player! At the age of 19, John became a winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk awards with a trio called the Black Cat Theory. At the age of 21, John became the first non-American to win the USA National Bluegrass Banjo Championships held in Kansas.
“John Dowling’s banjo playing reminds us of the breadth of expression this sometimes-maligned instrument is capable of. In his hands the dignity to this instrument is restored. John is not just a great banjo player but a master musician” Ralph McTell
Together, Will and John blend nostalgic Cornish folk songs with intricate foot tapping instrumentals, leaving audiences both amazed and touched.
This really will be an evening to remember.
